From the Top is the preeminent showcase for young musicians aired on more than 200 stations nationwide and heard weekly on Colorado Public Radio. This episode of the popular NPR program hosted by acclaimed pianist Christopher O'Riley will feature the amazing performances and captivating personal stories of extraordinary young classical musicians with Colorado connections.

Featured musicians will include 17-year-old violinist Emily Switzer from Denver, Colorado. She studies music with James Maurer and is the concertmaster for the Denver Young Artists’ Orchestra. A kid from a musical family, both of her parents perform in the symphony. 17-year-old organist Bryan Dunnewald is from Arvada, Colorado. A student at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, Bryan also sings in the Interlochen Arts Academy Choir. This Colorado Symphony performance allows these exceptional young musicians the rare opportunity to perform with a full orchestra.

The show will also feature Colorado Symphony Associate Principal horn player Kolio Plachkov who is an alum of From the Top Show 120, taped in Norfolk, Virginia in April of 2005. Another highlight of this program will be a performance by The Colorado Children’s Chorale.
