ORFF Carmina burana
Colorado Symphony Music Director Andrew Litton leads the final concerts of the 2015/16 season, featuring Carl Orff’s powerhouse Carmina burana, a symphonic exploration of love, lust, and the perils of earthly pleasures. Threaded together by powerful rhythms and unforgettable (and notably challenging) vocal parts, the 25 distinct movements course from euphoria to suffering and back again, a perfect close to the season.
Don't forget to arrive early for the prelude at 6:30 pm (12:00 Sunday) hosted by local music historian, Betsy Schwarm. Preludes are insightful discussions that take place before each Masterworks performance and are included with your concert ticket.
