This performance has been cancelled.
We regretfully announce the Vienna Boys Choir has made the difficult decision to cancel its North American tour, scheduled from October 21 through December 22, 2021. Due to the increased restrictions imposed by international authorities, and the continued uncertainty surrounding international travel and the spread of the virus, the directors of the school and the board of the Vienna Boys Choir have determined that the safety and well-being of the children must remain their primary focus. They have therefore decided to cancel all touring activities, local and international, for the remainder of 2021. Patrons who have purchased tickets with their subscriptions or via presale will be contacted within the next 30 days to recieve a full refund. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Description
Boys have been singing at the Viennese court since the 14th century, and in 1498 – more than half a millennium ago – Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I moved his court and his court musicians to Vienna. Historians have settled on 1498 as the foundation date of the Vienna Chapel Imperial (Hofmusikkapelle) and thus the Vienna Boys Choir. Until 1918, the choir sang exclusively for the imperial court, at mass, concerts, private functions, and on state occasions.
