MENDELSSOHN A Midsummer Night's Dream
Commemorating 400 years since the Bard’s passing, the Colorado Symphony’s inaugural Shakespeare Festival weekend celebrates Felix Mendelssohn’s charming and delightful A Midsummer Night’s Dream (which includes the unmistakable "Wedding March") as Maureen Thomas performs passages from the fantastic classic in a one-woman tour-de-force. Conductor Hans Graf leads the orchestra and the Colorado Children’s Chorale in an evening of Shakespeare that effortlessly melds drama and music and promises to ignite your imagination.
Don't forget to arrive early for the prelude at 6:30 pm hosted by local music historian, Betsy Schwarm. Preludes are insightful discussions that take place before each Masterworks performance and are included with your concert ticket.
