Overview
Symphonic Time Travel (Grades 3-8) Youth Concert
Travel through time with your Colorado Symphony as we build the orchestra from its humble beginnings in the Baroque era of the 17th century through its growth during the Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, and Contemporary eras. Students will be guided through history using the orchestra as a sonic time machine! The orchestra will literally increase in size before their eyes as they learn the mechanics, engineering, and creative ingenuity behind some of the greatest symphonic music of all time. Historical timelines, fun orchestra and composer facts, and listening maps will be included with the Colorado State Music Standards and Common Core-aligned materials featuring this program’s repertoire, enabling classroom study in advance of the field trip.
