Elephant Revival with the Colorado Symphony

Andres Lopera, Conductor

2016 is proving to be a dream year for the Nederland quintet, Elephant Revival. The ensemble headlined their first show at Red Rocks earlier this spring and are now proud to announce their first performance at Boettcher Concert Hall with the Colorado Symphony on Saturday, November 26th.

The music of Elephant Revival is that of connection and the message of their new album, Petals, is not how life is about loss, but rather how much life there is in loss, how much potency, how much love. But this is not an album about despair or darkness; it’s a thanksgiving and a prayer for what endures and returns.

Just Opened! New seats for Elephant Revival with the Colorado Symphony! Due to popular demand, limited-view seating is now available for this performance! Call the box office today or visit coloradosymphony.org to grab tickets before they go!

Description

2016 is proving to be a dream year for the Nederland quintet, Elephant Revival. The ensemble headlined their first show at Red Rocks earlier this spring and are now proud to announce their first performance at Boettcher Concert Hall with the Colorado Symphony on Saturday, November 26th.

The music of Elephant Revival is that of connection and the message of their new album, Petals, is not how life is about loss, but rather how much life there is in loss, how much potency, how much love. But this is not an album about despair or darkness; it’s a thanksgiving and a prayer for what endures and returns.

NPR describes Elephant Revival as a group that “pulls together so many elements of American music that summing up its sound in just a few words is bound to prove inadequate.” Although not bound to any one genre, the band maintains its roots in American, gypsy and Celtic songcraft, and has achieved a compositional maturity that, in moments, can evoke the modern classical ensemble.

The Colorado Symphony proudly continues pushing the envelope of blending genres and incorporating local Colorado artists (including The Lumineers, DeVotchKa, and Gregory Alan Isakov) to bring together another unique, spellbinding concert experience for you to enjoy.

As the holiday season approaches, we are thrilled to announce a partnership among Elephant Revival, Volunteers of America, and the Colorado Symphony to launch a Season of Giving Food Drive.

Volunteers of America's City Harvest Food Bank serves nearly 40,000 low-income families, homebound seniors, and the homeless through over 70 community pantries and food banks throughout the Denver Metropolitan Area.

You are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to Boettcher Concert Hall now through the night of our Nov. 26 Elephant Revival concert. Show your community you care! You can drop off all items during regular Box Office hours (M-F: 10am-6pm, Sat: 12-6pm).
